Orla Whelan

MA Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, BA (Hons) Psychology, Cert CBT.

Orla is a psychotherapist working with children, adolescents, and adults.

She has over seven years experience and has worked and trained in many different clinical settings, including a Dublin based DEIS primary school; with children in foster care; in the Student College Services in Trinity College Dublin; and in private practice.

Orla also works in Pieta House with clients who are experiencing suicidal ideation, self-harming or have experienced loss due to suicide.

Orla specialises in the following areas: anxiety, depression, behavioural issues, social issues, bereavement and loss relationship issues, eating disorders, sexual identity and many other emotional and psychological problems.

Orla works from a psychoanalytic perspective, which is working with the unconscious mind, and also uses CBT and a solution-focused perspective.

Orla is a registered practitioner with APPI (Association of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in Ireland) and a member of ICP.
